At Siasconset Union Chapel, we welcome all who seek spiritual connection, community, and renewal. Our doors are open to residents and visitors alike, offering services in both Protestant and Catholic traditions throughout the summer season. Join us in this historic sacred space where generations have gathered for prayer, music, reflection, and fellowship.
Whether you're at home or traveling, you can join our community live each week as we come together for worship and fellowship. And if you happen to miss a service, don't worry! You can easily catch up on previous weeks' messages and reflections at your convenience, allowing you to stay engaged with your faith journey no matter your schedule.
The Siasconset Union Chapel was built as an ecumenical "House of Worship" and continues in that spirit today. We honor the distinctive elements of both Protestant and Catholic traditions while celebrating our shared Christian heritage and values.
As one of only two chapels in the country used by both Catholic and Protestant congregations, we embrace a unique ecumenical approach that respects theological differences and emphasizing our common faith. This spirit of unity amid diversity has been our hallmark since 1883, we aim to create a spiritual home where all can worship authentically while growing in understanding and respect for different expressions of faith.
At the heart of our community life are values that guide our worship, fellowship, and service:
The Chapel is truly a good neighbor to our village, both in the beauty of its building, and the magnificent gardens but also in its abiding message of community as written over the altar: "Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity”. It helps us, guided by our beloved minister, to place kindness at the center of our lives, to welcome the stranger and lift up the oppressed in our prayers and actions and to see everyone as our neighbor. All are so very welcome.
Children are an important part of our Chapel family, and we warmly welcome them to our services. The Children's Program will coincide with the Chapel service on Sundays at 10:30 AM from July 13 - 27 to August 10 - 24. Children will experience the Chapel service and then families come together during the service to transition to "God's Time." There, they will engage in singing, storytelling, craft activities, and other age-appropriate community-building activities.
We are excited to welcome children ages 3-12 and encourage you to register your children and grandchildren to ensure their participation. We hope to create stronger connections and encourage our Chapel family to grow in faith together.
We welcome you to the Chapel as your spiritual home on Nantucket. We are honored that you have chosen to worship with us and assure you that we will make every effort to give you a joyful and meaningful experience.
